We bought large prints of Sam’s Anvil Island and Squamish Inlet. We are lucky enough to live in Lions Bay and the view from every window in our house is the “live” version of Sam’s work. He has captured the essence of the area/his subjects completely - so much so that our eyes invariably gravitate towards his images at the beginning and end of every day - just to enjoy his/the human appreciation of this magical land. We have not met Sam, but if he is cut from the same cloth as his fabulous father (who helped us with the art choice and purchase) then all is good.read more

I was needing to find a picture for my wall above the fireplace as the picture I had displayed there was a friend’s which I had been storing for her. As I was searching the various art stores and galleries, I came across Sam’s original art work. I loved the simple lines of the paintings. We were first introduced to Sams painting when our daughter bought one. We loved it so much, we went to the studio to look at more paintings. We immediately fell in love with not one but three . After searching for some time for art that we loved, and was within budget, we came across Sam’s Original Art. We just purchased a print of ‘Burrard Inlet’ to take center stage above the fireplace in our living room. Not only do we love the art, but the entire process was fabulous, starting out with being able to send in a picture of the spot the art was to be hung and them returning a shot with the art work superimposed. This helped immensely to visualize the work in our home, and they were never pushy after we reached out to them. I commissioned a piece from Sam. I had a photo of a landscape I took in Palm Springs years ago. I gave it to Sam and asked if he would be able to recreate the image into the style in which he paints. He allowed me to review the commissioned piece when it was 90% finished. He was very open to my opinion and was very easy going when I explained where I felt the piece needed a little more emphasis (It was a part that gave me a large emotional connection to the photo in the first place) Sam understood what I was saying and went with it with total enthusiasm.
