In many respects, ‘Cloudy Day’ is similar to an earlier work entitled ‘Rain Beyond the Prairie’. Both are predominantly cloud-covered sky over a bleak, greyish landscape, comprising a muted and understated color palette that echoes the brooding melancholy of a rainy day.
