While similar to ‘Sunshine Coast’, this delightfully gorgeous painting, entitled ‘Tree Island’, possesses a balance and authority that I find to be especially attractive. Of course, as in most of Sam’s work, the colors are incredible, and there is a sense of the ‘fantastic’ in it’s other-worldly design. And yet, it still remains true to the spirit of the Great Northwest that embodies so much of the subject matter of Sam Siegel paintings.
